Architectural Drawing 1922
The following prints are taken from a 1922 book ‘Architectural Drawing‘ by Wooster Bard Field who was an Architect and Assistant Professor of Engineering Drawing at the Ohio State University.
These type of drawings are very popular at the moment as are any vintage materials related to building, house design / construction. Prints with this type of subject matter can command quite high prices. One aspect of books on this subject which is extremely popular is instruction on how to execute drawings. Generally speaking the ‘old ways‘ of doing thing are perceived often, as being superior to modern methods with greater skill and craftsmanship in evidence. There is a great demand to learn these old skills and this is not just limited to architectural drawing but to all kinds of trades and crafts. For example:
-
Carpentry
-
Figure drawing / sketching
-
Illumination
-
Cooking
-
Textile crafts
-
Masonry
I could go on and on but I am sure you get the idea. People have a great thirst for historical knowledge and in particular, specific instruction . Hence if you can obtain vintage instructional books in these areas, there is great potential for product creation. You could even take a book and rebrand it into a course or series of manuals and put your own name to it – this is fairly easy to do and has indeed been done to great effect by numerous public domain marketers.
