More Public Domain images
One of the biggest image hosting sites on the web is Flickr. You can find an image of absolutely anything on here and the interesting part is, there are literally 1000′s of public domain images on there. So, how can you go about finding these images?
- One simple way- type ‘public domain’ into the search box and hit enter. Currently, doing this yields 36,745 results!
- Go to ‘Advanced Search’ and check the boxes for “Only search within Creative Commons-licensed photos” and ”Find content to use commercially”.
- Put what you are looking for in at the top and hit Search
Theres loads of other places on the web that you can find PD images. As an addendum to my last post, within Wikipedia, there is actually a really useful page which lists public domain resources onn the net in subject specific categories find it here:

Other places you can look are the ever increasing number of museums, galleries, libraries and univerities around the world who are digitizing their image collections and making them available on the web.
